- Borehole testing was carried out in September 2025.
- Following this, the testing consultancy investigated the materials found in the laboratory and produced a detailed materials analysis.
- This report then was reviewed and broken down in more layman’s terms by a geotechnical consultancy, and an overall review report was produced, and received in January 2026
- The report enabled the consultancy to also review potential methods of remedial to stabilise the embankment.
- We have received this report, but part of the commission was to also include indicative costs of repair which we are chasing.
- We are scheduling a meeting to review this information
- As soon as we have relevant information, Highways shall look to discuss what options we have to go forward with e.g;
- No funds so keep route closed as current;
- No funds so close permanently;
- Look to secure funds from The Council;
- Look to secure funding via any such bidding or other sources
